What is the Groningen Internet Exchange?

GN-IX is the Internet hub of the Northern Netherlands where Internet providers and carriers interconnect in order to exchange traffic at a regional and (inter)national level. It also is the center for new ICT and bandwidth initiatives in the region.

The organisation has been established as a foundation on a not-for-profit basis. Its (semi) public participants guarantee independence and long-term continuity.

The goal of GN-IX and its partners is to contribute to economic development in the Northern Netherlands by attracting and servicing Internet-based companies. GN-IX is committed to helping its customers realize their goals by offering high quality facilities and optimal support.
